Engagement Details

• Type: Direct contractor, full-time equivalent commitment
• Location: Remote with substantial U.S. Eastern Time overlap
• Reporting: Consello AI Lead, working within a small senior product/engineering team
• Duration: Initial 3-month term, extension expected
• Security: All work performed inside Consello’s Azure tenant

Required Experience & Tech Stack

• Python backend (5+ years): Production FastAPI (or equivalent) with async/await, WebSocket streaming, REST design, pytest; comfortable in a large, fast-evolving codebase
• Agentic AI systems (hands-on, in production): Multi-round tool-use/function-calling loops, planning and orchestration, tool registries, state and context management, guardrails and failure handling, human-in-the-loop approval patterns
• LLM application engineering (1.5+ years): Anthropic Claude and/or OpenAI APIs in production — structured outputs (JSON schema), prompt engineering and versioning, streaming, retrieval-augmented generation, cost/latency optimization
• Evaluation frameworks: Building and running eval harnesses for LLM features — golden sets, LLM-as-judge rubrics, regression testing of prompts/tools, offline vs. online evaluation, quality and cost dashboards
• Production AI application architecture: Designing multi-component AI systems end to end — orchestration, retrieval, caching, queuing/scheduled jobs, observability, secure secret/identity handling
• AI-assisted development as a daily practice: Claude Code, Cursor, or similar — you should be able to walk us through how you use these tools to ship faster
• Azure: Azure Container Apps or App Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Key Vault, Application Insights / Log Analytics; familiarity with Azure AI Foundry and Azure AI Search
• Microsoft 365 / Graph API: Delegated and app-only auth (MSAL), reading mail/calendar/SharePoint, webhooks or delta sync
• Frontend working proficiency: React 18 + TypeScript (Vite), Tailwind CSS — able to build and modify production UI, not just prototypes
• Engineering hygiene: Git/GitHub, GitHub Actions CI/CD, Docker, code review discipline

Nice to Have

• MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers/clients; multi-provider model routing
• Microsoft Teams Bot Framework; proactive messaging
• Financial data APIs or financial-services domain exposure
• Embeddings and vector/hybrid search; document generation (python-docx, PPTX pipelines)
• Bicep or Terraform infrastructure-as-code
