About Sunrise Robotics

At Sunrise Robotics, we are dedicated to augmenting humanity through intelligent robotics. Our mission is to evolve the world of manufacturing by introducing intelligent, flexible robots that enhance human capabilities and existing machinery, ushering in the next era of production at higher quality, with less waste, and lower cost.

Our Vision

We see a future where every element of manufacturing, from design to assembly, is optimised with intelligent automation. Our vision is to integrate flexible robotic solutions, based on generic hardware and advanced software/AI capabilities, into manufacturing, particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises, to make automation economically viable and accessible, for all sizes of manufacturers. We are not just building robots; we are creating the strategically crucial components for autonomous, intelligent agents of the future.

The Role

As a 3D Computer Vision Engineer, you will be in charge of designing 3D imaging based solutions and pushing the limits of Simulation to Real applications to solve varying recognition problems in 2D and 3D imaging space. In this role, you are going to be researching, designing and developing advanced and applicable end to end solutions while improving our in-house frameworks.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop 3D imaging based solutions to recognise objects, their pose, anomalies or certain events on real hardware.

  • Implement end-to-end CV / ML applications on top of synthetic and real data obtained with various imaging platforms, such as 3D cameras and LiDAR.

  • Contribute to the design and development of in-house MLOps.

  • Apply SOTA methods to create the next generation of robotics with an international multidisciplinary team.

What Are We Looking For

  • A very skilled and experienced computer vision or machine learning engineer who has a professional background in 2D/3D Computer Vision and 2D/3D Deep Learning

  • You have experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and Tensorflow, and 3D computer vision frameworks such as Open3D-ML, OpenPCDet and others.

  • A professional software engineer who has implemented solutions for production grade systems for 5+ years.

  • You have extensive experience with Python and are familiar with other programming languages, such as C++.

  • You have extensive professional experience with imaging hardware, such as industrial cameras, 3D cameras, stereo systems, LIDAR and their calibration.

  • You have experience with 6D pose object detection and point object segmentation.

  • You have experience with MLOps, experiment tracking, data versioning and model serving on platforms such as MLFlow, W&B, CometML, ClearML, etc.

  • You are familiar with edge device compute.

  • You have the ability to break down complex problems into small sub problems and build efficient hierarchical solutions.

  • You have the capacity to work with multidisciplinary and international teams and are an excellent communicator who can articulate complex architecture and solution design concepts in a clear, compelling manner.

  • You are passionate about robotics, automation, and the transformative potential of intelligent systems.

Nice to have

  • Experience with ROS, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS / GCE.
