About the Job

As a Senior Backend Developer at GlitchD Labs, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the backend infrastructure for our diverse range of products. You will focus on ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency, leveraging DevOps practices and AWS services to optimize performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs for various products.

  • Implement and manage DevOps practices to streamline deployment, monitoring, and scaling of applications.

  • Utilize AWS services to build and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define and implement technical solutions.

  • Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.

  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of backend systems to ensure high-quality standards.

  • Implement security best practices to protect data and applications.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and team members.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest backend technologies, DevOps practices, and AWS services.

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in backend development.

  • Strong experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code.

  • Proficiency in AWS services, including cloudformation, ECS,  Lambda, and more.

  • Solid knowledge of backend technologies such as Node.js, Java, or Golang.

  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

  • Solid knowledge of database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience with serverless architecture and microservices.

  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.

  • Familiarity with security best practices and compliance standards.

  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong personal portfolio.

  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
