About Sunrise Robotics

At Sunrise Robotics, we are dedicated to augmenting humanity through intelligent robotics. Our mission is to evolve the world of manufacturing by introducing intelligent, flexible robots that enhance human capabilities and existing machinery, ushering in the next era of production at higher quality, with less waste, and lower cost.

Our Vision

We see a future where every element of manufacturing, from design to assembly, is optimized with intelligent automation. Our vision is to integrate flexible robotic solutions, based on generic hardware and advanced software/AI capabilities, into manufacturing, particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises, to make automation economically viable and accessible, for all sizes of manufacturers. We are not just building robots; we are creating the strategically crucial components for autonomous, intelligent agents of the future.

About the job

As our (Mid) Safety Engineer, you are presented with a unique and exhilarating challenge: how do we make automation solutions scalable with minimal non-recurring costs. We require a mind shift from typical system integrator processes to a productised solution that facilitates scalable commissioning. We expect you to bring a lot of knowledge, experiences and most importantly creativity. We need someone who opens their safety toolbox and comes up with a solution and doesn’t just stick to whatever they are used to. Naturally you will also be responsible for all the typical safety tasks, most notably helping to design and sign off on deployed robotic applications.

  • A skilled and experienced safety engineer with a proven track record and certification

  • So knowledgeable about machine standards, that you constantly mention ISO numbers and sections when explaining why things have to be done a certain way

  • An abstract thinker with the capability of seeing problems from different perspectives e.g. different users, high level descriptions, generalization across application

  • Innovative designer constantly up to date with latest safety equipment and conference publishings

  • Capacity to work with multidisciplinary teams including AI, mechanical, electrical and other engineers to develop complex robotic systems and evaluate them in advanced simulation environments

  • An excellent communicator who can articulate complex design concepts in a clear and compelling manner

  • Passionate about robotics, automation, and the transformative potential of intelligent systems in manufacturing

  • Insatiably curious and open minded
