Internal Finance / FP&A Expert

What you’ll do

Mercor is partnering with leading AI labs to advance frontier agent evaluations in finance. As an FP&A Expert, you’ll build long-horizon finance tasks that mirror the work you already do, each paired with a deterministic rubric that grades agent performance against verifiable ground truth. Tasks need to have checkable answers; no open-ended essays, no subjective judgment calls.

Expect to build scenarios across:

• Planning: budgets that roll up to a target, headcount plans that reconcile to a hiring plan, unit economics that tie to source data
• Management reporting: variance bridges with a fixed ground-truth decomposition, board-pack KPIs with defined calculations
• Operating finance: driver-based opex walks, scenario models with specified inputs and expected outputs

These scenarios will be challenging and take long sessions of focus.

Who we’re looking for

• BS or MS in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related; 4+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance
• Expertise in one or more of the following: budget building and rollup, variance analysis, driver-based planning, EPM tooling (Anaplan, Adaptive, Pigment), headcount modeling
• Comfortable reading and producing finance artifacts: budgets, forecast packs, variance bridges, board decks, headcount models
• Clear written communication; can articulate reasoning step by step and encode it into deterministic rubrics

Compensation

$75–$100/hr depending on domain depth and prior experience. Strong contributors are promoted based on task quality and throughput.
