Cross-Platform Engine Developer (Cocos2d-x)
micro1 connects elite engineers with frontier AI labs and Fortune 10 companies — and they’re looking for a Cross-Platform Engine Developer with deep Cocos2d-x expertise. This is a full-time, permanent remote position paying $50–$150/hr. You’ll build and optimize high-performance 2D/3D games across mobile, desktop, and console. If you write C++ in your sleep and have shipped cross-platform titles, this is a top-tier rate for engine-level work.
What you’ll do
- Design and implement engine-level features using Cocos2d-x and C++ for cross-platform game deployment
- Optimize rendering pipelines, memory management, and frame rates across mobile, desktop, and console targets
- Build reusable game systems (physics, animation, UI frameworks) that scale across platforms
- Debug and resolve platform-specific performance bottlenecks and compatibility issues
- Collaborate with game designers and artists to translate creative vision into performant technical implementations
What they’re looking for
- Strong C++ skills with production experience building games in Cocos2d-x
- Proven track record shipping cross-platform titles (iOS, Android, plus desktop or console)
- Deep understanding of rendering optimization, memory management, and GPU profiling
- Nice to have: experience with other engines (Unity, Unreal) or custom engine development, shader programming
