Corporate Development / Strategic Finance Expert

What you’ll do

Mercor is partnering with leading AI labs to advance frontier agent evaluations in corporate finance. As a Corporate Development Expert, you’ll build long-horizon transaction and strategy tasks that mirror the work you already do, each paired with a deterministic rubric that grades agent performance against verifiable ground truth. Tasks need to have checkable answers; no open-ended essays, no subjective judgment calls.

Expect to build scenarios across:

• M&A analysis: comps tables with defined peer sets and metrics, DCFs where assumptions map to a target valuation range, LBO and merger models with specified returns
• Diligence: synergy build-ups tied to source data, CIM extractions against a ground-truth fact set
• Capital allocation: scenarios with specified IRRs, NPVs, and payback outputs

These scenarios will be challenging and take long sessions of focus.

Who we’re looking for

• BS or MS in Finance, Economics, or related; 3+ years in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or strategic finance
• Expertise in one or more of the following: LBO/merger modeling, DCF valuation, comps and precedent analysis, synergy analysis, IC memo drafting
• Comfortable reading and producing transaction artifacts: models, teasers, CIMs, IC/board memos
• Clear written communication; can articulate reasoning step by step and encode it into deterministic rubrics

Compensation

$100–$135/hr depending on domain depth and prior experience. Strong contributors are promoted based on task quality and throughput.
